Martin Pierre Brodeur (born 6 May 1972 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He won two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada and was awarded the Vezina Trophy four times as the best goaltender of the season. He is also a nine-time NHL All-Star winner.

Interesting Fact

Throughout the course of his career, Martin Brodeur was constantly breaking and setting records. He was one of the first goaltenders that were able to handle the puck outside of the goal crease. On April 17, 1997, in the first game of a first-round playoff matchup against the Montreal Canadiens, Brodeur fired the puck from the own goal line. The puck, not being blocked by anyone, flew right into the goal of the opposing team. His three goals are the most of any NHL goaltender.
