Kristine Tsuya Yamaguchi (born 12 July 1971 in Hayward, California, U.S.) is an American figure skater. She is an Olympic champion, two-time World Champion, U.S. national champion and a Junior World Champion.

Interesting Fact

Kristine was born with talipes, where both her feet were turned in and under. She had to wear plaster casts until she turned one, which were then replaced with orthopedic shoes. At the age of 5, she began taking skating lessons, which were approved by her doctors. At age 15, she won her first U.S. National Championship, and later the World Championship. Kristine quickly acquired a reputation as one of the best figure skaters. She became the first woman to take the U.S. Championship gold in singles and pairs figure skating.
