Kjetil André Aamodt (born 2 September 1971 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian alpine ski racer, four-time Olympic champion, the only alpine skier to win 8 Olympic medals and 12 World Championship titles.

Interesting Fact

Aamodt's first major success came when he won a gold medal at the Junior World Championship. At his debut World Cup, Aamodt placed 34th but since then was gradually improving his performance until winning the World Cup gold medal at 22. His further win statistics are no less impressive: four Olympic gold medals, five World Championship gold medals, 64 World Cup medals. Kjetil's award list is astounding, but what really made him stand out was his flawless technique and the feel of snow. To this day, he is one of only five male all-around skiers to have won a World Cup race in all five disciplines.
