Lasha Talakhadze (born 2 October 1993 in Sachkhere, Georgia) is a Georgian weightlifter competing in the super-heavyweight +109 kg category. Talakhadze is a two-time Olympic champion, five-time world champion, and six-time European champion. He currently holds the all-time world records in the 109+ kg weight category in the snatch, the clean and jerk and the total.

Interesting Fact

Throughout his career Lasha has set 23 official senior world records. At the 2017 World Weightlifting Championships, he lifted 220 kg in the snatch portion of the competition, which set a new world record for the total with 477 kg, also breaking the all-time highest total of 475 kg held by Leonid Taranenko for 30 years. The heaviest weight lifted by Talakhadze was 340 kg in a clean pull triple.
